The speaker of Uganda's Parliament wants to the private members bill of David Bahati "anti -homosexuallity" bill to passed into law. This was after a heated exchange with Canada 's foreign affairs ministers John Baird ,who condemned countries that criminalize homosexuality.During this conference he called on Uganda to protect its people regardless of sex, sexuality or faith.
Now members of parliament have passed a resolution in support of calls to revive the notorious anti-gaybill during the parliamentay session.During the parliamentary session politicans from across the political spectrum slammed hhomosexuality and claimed western interference which 's a threat to Uganda 's values..
The house applauded Kadaga and also Prime minister Amama Mbabazi congratulated her for taking a stand "i rise toadd my voice to state that you represented Uganda effectively in Canada"
You represented our right to do what we want to do as a country .we have made a point very clearlythat we abide by the country's constitution which guarantees the right of members and back benchers to move private members bills and Mp aBahati exercised that right.
Mp David Bahati who wrote the bill , proposed death penalty for cases of aggravated homosexuality but now the law makers are opting ,instead for life imprisonment
